HCA is a progressive boutique firm of architects dedicated to a broad spectrum of architectural and interior design consulting services. The firm's work spans a diverse range of building types - residential, hospitality, institutional and commercial - and is truly international in scope, with projects in Canada and the U.S., and as far afield as Europe, Russia and Pakistan. Its portfolio includes hotels, spas, restaurants, conference facilities, condominiums, community centres, daycares and retail stores. Since HCA believes a building cannot be conceived from the outside alone, the firm offers the complementary services of both architecture and interior design. From a practical standpoint, this approach streamlines communication with clients, harmonizes overall design and simplifies budget and scheduling requirements, rendering project setup and execution far more efficient. This dual focus, along with its personal client relationships are what set HCA apart in its field. From an aesthetic standpoint, HCA strives to respect and marry exterior and interior considerations. The firm designs site-specific architecture that creates a natural and seamless flow between inside and outside spaces, with elements that cradle the outdoors, bringing it inside and vice versa. Established in 1991 by Harry Christakis, HCA takes a multi-disciplinary approach to design, engaging a diverse and talented team of technically and artistically strong individuals. Mr. Christakis is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, a member of the Ontario Association of Architects and a member of the Toronto Society of Architects.
